Spending time connecting with nature is brilliant for our mental wellbeing.
Spending time in nature can reduce stress and anxiety, lift our mood and help our minds rest. WWF Cymru are working to build a Wales which is rich in habitats and species where people can enjoy nature.
WWF Cymru have developed a prescription for nature, recommending we spend 20 minutes a day undertaking a nature-based activity where possible. This could be spending time in the garden or park, listening to nature on a walk, spotting insects or taking care of your houseplants. There’s something for everyone.

WWF Cymru
The benefits of engaging with nature are universal and can play a significant role in supporting the mental wellbeing of children and young people. Schools can sign up to receive a poster pack (Get your daily dose of nature at school | WWF ) via the WWF Cymru website.
The website also provides top tips for people in employment, helping you to feel closer to nature and look after your wellbeing while you’re at work. You can also download or order a free nature pack(paper or digital): Choose your Daily Dose Pack | WWF Support
WWF Cymru supports nature prescriptions through a mental health charity called Dose of Nature. The charity provides a Dose of Nature Prescription, an eight week programme to help people discover how spending time in nature can improve mental health. It encourages lasting lifestyle changes through learning, hands-on experiences, and support from a trained guide.
Because nature is so good at helping us feel well everyone is encouraged to get their daily dose by spending 20 minutes in nature.
