This tool was developed as part of Cultural Cwtsh, which was an online creative wellbeing hub for the health and care workforce in Wales, created by the Arts Council of Wales in collaboration with artists across the country.
In partnership with the Arts Council of Wales, we’re excited to share this mental wellbeing tool, alongside with many other creative resources, with everyone in Wales!
“Connection is the thing that we need to help us feel well.”
Hello, my name is Cai, I’m an independent artist and I’ve been working in the field of arts and health for many years.
I would like to introduce these shorts meditations called Acts Of Imagination For Wellbeing.
The premise of the meditations is quite simply about connection.
In my work over the years, in hospital settings and care homes, it is quite clear that connection is the thing that we need to help us feel well.
These meditations really are about connecting to the small ordinary pleasures that can be found as we use our attention and a particular way to connect to sensation and to our imagination.
Each of these meditations focus on the slightly different themes.
There’s no right or wrong way of listening to them or responding to them.
But the purpose in a way is towards what feels good, where the pleasure is, and where the ease is.
I hope you enjoy.
Thank you.

Senses
This little meditation is about the sense, and how we can use the support of senses to connect to both ourselves and our environment in the present.

Hands
The hands work so hard as we go about our days. This little Mediation is about offering ourselves a moment to experience the support that’s available when we gently turn our attention to sensation, and what feels good.

Movement
Movement is everywhere. Inside us and all around us. This little meditation is about rhythm and connection, and how as we slow down to consider movement, we gain access to a wealth of support in our bodies.
