In our busy lives, finding time to look after our mental wellbeing can often fall to the bottom of the list.
This short animation explores the question “What is ‘wellbeing’ to me?” through the experiences of a group of young mothers supported by GISDA in Gwynedd, showing how simple, everyday actions can make a meaningful difference. It highlights that even small moments can help support and improve your mental wellbeing.

Created through a series of workshops, the animation was co-produced with the group, who discussed and illustrated what wellbeing means in their daily lives. Their ideas showed that wellbeing doesn’t have to be complicated or time-consuming. It can be as simple as enjoying a quiet cup of tea, taking a walk in nature, having an early night or expressing yourself creatively.
It also addresses the real-life barriers that can make self-care difficult such as caring responsibilities, lack of community support, or limited time, but how despite all of this it is possible to find small moments in the day that bring joy.
It shows us that, ultimately, despite life’s challenges there is always something we can do to protect and improve our mental wellbeing.
