This tool was developed as part of Cultural Cwtsh, which was an online creative wellbeing hub for the health and care workforce in Wales, created by the Arts Council of Wales in collaboration with artists across the country.
In partnership with the Arts Council of Wales, we’re excited to share this mental wellbeing tool, alongside with many other creative resources, with everyone in Wales!
I’m artist Nathan Wyburn and this is my self-portrait created using my sertraline prescription packaging.
Over the past few months I’ve been saving my empty prescription packaging and decided to make his portrait to help erase the stigma around mental health.
Let’s talk, let’s be there for each other. We are living in a plastic container of a world right now where there is so much negativity and that’s a lot to deal with.
I would just like to ask you if you are suffering with mental health to talk about it, if not to friends and family, then go to your GP and maybe you can get some help like I did.
It’s helped me a lot as a person and as an artist.
I hope that this piece of artwork explains that to you. I’m very proud of this work and I’m proud of myself for taking that leap and getting help.
Thank you.
