This tool was developed as part of Cultural Cwtsh, which was an online creative wellbeing hub for the health and care workforce in Wales, created by the Arts Council of Wales in collaboration with artists across the country.
In partnership with the Arts Council of Wales, we’re excited to share this mental wellbeing tool, alongside with many other creative resources, with everyone in Wales!
Dance is a way to keep ourselves healthy, not just physically, but also mentally.
‘Move Through Joy’ is a series of dance and movement workshops aimed at lifting your spirit while keeping your body and mind in good health.
I am dancer Anthony Matsena, and I’ve created a series of videos with my brothers Kel and Arnold Matsena.
We have put together easy-to-follow movement tasks aimed at freeing the body and mind. Our mother often comes back from long shifts at the hospital and finds that these are fun ways to reduce her stress and also keep their herself in good health.
We know that your bodies come back from work both tight and sore. These videos will work through that tightness to help you feel strong and free before, during and after work.
- Video 1 – Wake your body before work
- Video 2 – Take a break and re-energise the body
- Video 3 – Reset your body at the end of a shift
Little to no movement experience is needed. Just a little space and an open heart.
Enjoy and have fun!
