This tool was developed as part of Cultural Cwtsh, which was an online creative wellbeing hub for the health and care workforce in Wales, created by the Arts Council of Wales in collaboration with artists across the country.
In partnership with the Arts Council of Wales, we’re excited to share this mental wellbeing tool, alongside with many other creative resources, with everyone in Wales!
Hello! My name is Leo Nicholson, I am an animator and filmmaker living in South Wales. My background has been mostly as a stop-motion animator for TV series and feature films.
In these videos I’m sharing how to get started with two traditional animation techniques: paper cut-out and stop-motion.
I recommend you begin by following along with the set-up videos to get the most out of the two animation videos.
I’ve kept things to the essentials, but every area can be expanded on and explored if you want to develop your learning further.
There are a lot of details in here, so make good use of the pause button and don’t feel the need to rush through it!
Enjoy learning, experimenting and innovating.
