This tool was developed as part of Cultural Cwtsh, which was an online creative wellbeing hub for the health and care workforce in Wales, created by the Arts Council of Wales in collaboration with artists across the country.
In partnership with the Arts Council of Wales, we’re excited to share this mental wellbeing tool, alongside with many other creative resources, with everyone in Wales!
The improvisation film celebrates the musician in all of us – from rhythm to melody, harmony and song, making things up as we go through life and expressing how we are feeling can be beneficial.
My final film demonstrates that creativity doesn’t have to be confined to specific settings, to rooms and buildings.
As well as the mindfulness benefits in taking a walk, there is amazing inspiration to be found in the natural world.
Whether a stormy beach, a sunny hill top, or a quiet woodland, in interacting with the natural world we can create music, song, and express how we are feeling.
The world is increasingly full on, and tuning out to tune into ourselves can be really challenging. I’m hoping that if you can make time to watch one of the videos, it may bring about a small shift in attitude to the when where and how of musical creativity.
