This tool was developed as part of Cultural Cwtsh, which was an online creative wellbeing hub for the health and care workforce in Wales, created by the Arts Council of Wales in collaboration with artists across the country.
In partnership with the Arts Council of Wales, we’re excited to share this mental wellbeing tool, alongside with many other creative resources, with everyone in Wales!
Having both friends and family who work in the NHS and social care sectors, I understand how few and far between moments of rest can be.
The breaks are often interrupted. Lunch is eaten in bites, cups of tea go cold.
This series of short exercises encourage you to build a personal meditative poem about a place that brings you peace. For me, poetry helps me make sense of the world and brings moments of clarity when my mind gets stormy.
Combining mindfulness, poetry, and a comforting memory is a powerful tool I hope will come in handy for anyone trying to find moments of slowing down while at work.
The exercises are short, bitesize videos so you can watch them during a break without taking up too much of your free time.
I’m a great believer in poetry for all and hope you will find these exercises and poetic examples useful when building your own personal poem.
