Carers tell us that being a carer for a loved one can be challenging but also rewarding.
The challenging part being a carer is the that it can affect our mental wellbeing. Carers Wales are here to make sure you are not alone.
If you are a carer, Carers Wales is here to help. Their hub provides information, guidance and resources to support people like you, with the day to day challenges of the role, as well as providing opportunities to connect with other carers like you.
This information covers a wide range of topics, including guidance on accessing carers allowances and living allowances as well as practical advice on promoting positive mental wellbeing.
Carers Wales understands how important physical health is for carers, both for their own wellbeing and their ability to provide care. Their hub provides guidance on topics like being active and sleep to help carers stay healthy for themselves and those they look after.
You can also find out more about Carers’ Week, an annual campaign taking place 9th to 15th June, which can help to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges faced by unpaid carers, and recognise the contribution you make as a carer to families and communities. It can also help you if you don’t think of yourself as having caring responsibilities to identify yourself as a carer.
Carers Wales is part of Carers UK, the leading national charity for carers.
