Finding solace in mental health support services

I’m 24, cis-gendered, have borderline personality disorder (BPD) and a history of eating disorders.

Why is looking after your mental wellbeing important to you?

If I don’t keep on top of my mental wellbeing, I spiral out of control and struggle immensely – so it is vital for my day-to-day living that I look after my mental health.

What do you do to protect and improve your mental wellbeing?

I stay in constant contact with mental health services and engage with therapy and help – it took a while to get to this point where I was comfortable to do so, though.

I also keep in contact with the university to try and ease the struggle of uni life, alongside with my workplace to do the same.

I try get out in nature when I can or engage in the hobbies that I enjoy – especially baking – as a way to keep productive and distracted in a healthy manner.
