This article explores how singing together creates a powerful sense of shared space and connection for mothers and women. A moment that feels like ‘their’ time, grounded in solidarity, voice, and wellbeing. Within this circle, something natural and beautiful unfolds – babies and children are gently enveloped in the warmth of human sound, a kind of vocal cwtch that requires no artifice, just voice and presence.
As women model this collective care through singing, their children grow up witnessing and absorbing it, often developing a love for singing themselves. In this way, the Singing Mamas sessions nurture not only the wellbeing of mothers, but also inspire the next generation through lived experience, connection, and shared joy.
Watch the video and take a moment to reflect on how you already use singing in your everyday, to entertain, soothe or give yourself and others a boost.
