This article explores how singing to your child, or singing together, can support both physical and mental wellbeing, while also strengthening your bond, whether you’re sharing a lullaby, a favourite song, or simply humming together

Watch the video and take a moment to reflect on how you already use singing in your everyday, to entertain, soothe or give yourself and others a boost.

Christianah Ugbaja is a trained Singing Mama and longstanding member of the WOW Choir, where she has contributed creativity, cultural inspiration and original songwriting for the past seven years. Christianah leads weekly music for wellbeing sessions with women seeking sanctuary, as well as monthly cultural singing sessions in Cardiff.

Across cultures worldwide, people instinctively sing to their babies and children. Singing can create connection, closeness and emotional regulation. Christianah is passionate about the  power of music and how singing together can create meaningful connections across cultures and languages, enhancing wellbeing for everyone involved.
