I’m a 39-year-old white Welsh female.

Why is looking after your mental wellbeing important to you?

Doing things for my mental wellbeing makes me feel good and helps me to enjoy life, no matter what else may be going on.

What do you do to protect and improve your mental wellbeing?

Spending time outdoors wildlife spotting and star gazing. Cycling to and from work, and going on bike rides with my family at weekends. Listening to music and dancing like no one is watching.

Playing with my son – we especially enjoy building dens and climbing trees. Catching up with friends. Listening to the sound of the sea.

Making creatures out of natural materials found on the beach also helps my wellbeing. I do this with my son. We love exploring the shoreline to find different colours and shapes to make a picture. We often notice that it brings a smile to other beach walkers too!
