What do you do to protect and improve your mental wellbeing?

I tried everything and ended up on anti-depressants, which was a real blow to my self-esteem. But they have been so effective and enabled me to continue doing all the things I enjoy. Getting out and about, meeting friends and family, starting new hobbies. My joie de vivre is back!

My joie de vivre is back!

What is one thing you have started doing in the last year that’s helped your mental wellbeing?

Wild swimming.

Why is looking after your mental wellbeing important to you?

It affects everything. If you’re down, you don’t want to do anything, including mixing with other people.

I love being active, meeting people and trying new activities. Ill mental health robbed me of that, and I wasn’t ‘me’ anymore. Don’t be afraid or ashamed to seek medical support if you’re struggling.
