Prioritising ‘me time’ and being kind to myself

I’m a 50+ female.

Why is looking after your mental wellbeing important to you?

I have more-than-average family responsibilities for several family members, and I work full-time hours. It is vital that I keep mentally well to manage my responsibilities effectively.

What do you do to protect and improve your mental wellbeing?

I tried to eat a well-balanced diet. I get up earlier in the morning to fit household chores in and an exercise routine before work. I go to bed at a more reasonable time at night to ensure I have enough sleep!

I am trying to be kind to myself by factoring in ‘me time’ – not always easy, but it is necessary.

What is one thing you have started doing in the last year that’s helped your mental wellbeing?

I have tried to address my inner critic and be kind to myself.

Anything else you’d like to share? This might be a quote or advice you’d like to give to others.

“Always believe in your strength, because even when you are at your weakest, there will always be something deep within you that will never allow you to GIVE UP!” – Roger Lee
